Autostat: sales of new cars in Russia in July increased by 33.9%

Sales of new cars in Russia in July increased by 33.9% compared to June, reaching 120.65 thousand units, according to "Autostat". This is the best figure since the beginning of the year, although in annual terms the market is still shrinking (-11.4%).

Experts attribute the growth to the realization of deferred demand, active sales of dealers and a decrease in the key rate of the Central Bank. Renat Tyukteev, Deputy General Director for New Car Sales at Avilon AG, said that it has become less profitable for people to keep money on deposits, and they began to spend on cars.

Lada remained the sales leader (28.24 thousand units, +16.9%), followed by Chery (13.5 thousand units, +52.4%) and Haval (13.12 thousand units, +43%). The top 5 also included Geely and Changan. Among the models, the leaders are Lada Granta, Vesta и Haval Jolion.
