Kaiyi is leaving the Russian car market, and BAIC is staying?

Chinese brand Kaiyi, which established contract assembly of cars at the Avtotor plant in 2023, may end production and deliveries of its cars to the Russian market. This was reported by the Auto Mail.ru project with reference to a source in the Russian auto business.

According to him, the decision to leave was made by the Chery concern, which includes the Kaiyi brand. The reason is the fact that the brand's model line turned out to be "not high enough in consumer properties for the Russian market."

But the BAIC concern made a strategic decision to move to an in-depth production process at Avtotor. In addition, the brand plans to invest in distribution and promotion on the Russian market. Thus, in January, the production of the BAIC BJ60 frame SUV was launched at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. In addition, in 2025, the BAIC X75 hybrid crossover should appear on our market.

Recall that earlier the media reported that Kaiyi and BAIC could leave the Russian car market.
