Personal chargers are purchased by owners electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. According to an association survey conducted at the end of 2025, 59% of electric car owners and 47% of hybrid users charged cars at home or in an underground parking lot. To do this, they used their own stations or standard cables connected to 220 V sockets.
The main growth in demand for public charging stations was provided by hybrid owners. Due to problems with the availability of gasoline, they began to use an electric motor more often and an internal combustion engine less often.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade previously reported that in January-July 2026, sales of new electric vehicles and hybrids in Russia increased by 94.7% in annual terms - up to 70.2 thousand cars.
Igor Yushkov, an analyst at the National Energy Security Fund, attributed the increase in demand for charging to a shortage of traditional fuel. According to him, owners of hybrids, which used to be mainly filled with gasoline, are now more likely to choose public fast-charging stations.
Alexander Frolov, an expert at the InfoTEK analytical center, in turn, noted that in the event of interruptions in fuel supplies, hybrid cars remain one of the most reliable transport options.
